Andrew Myers......
AKA Black Tiger

As a seasoned graphic designer, Andrew Myers AKA Black Tiger has crafted branding and marketing material for 20+ years.
In 2000 he graduated with a BA Honours in Graphic Design from the prestigious Camberwell College of Art & Design in London, after previously completing a Diploma in Graphic Design from Cleveland College of Art and Design, in Middlesbrough, UK.
He was employed in an in-house design capacity at Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge, London, and worked alongside large multi-national brands at Coloursonic, London, servicing a diverse range of clients, prior to relocating to Sydney some 20 years ago. Since that time, he has continued in graphics and signage both in a freelance capacity and in-house, with roles in both design and signage installation.

Andrew's other great passion is music...
Possessing a record collection that was birthed in 1978 with the purchase of his very first 7” single (Ian Dury & The Blockheads - Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick) at the tender age of 8 and maturing with employment in record stores in the late 80’s / early 90’s in England’s North East, an almost encyclopaedic music knowledge evolved.

Naturally, DJ’ing commenced early - first at The Sandpiper in Redcar, UK, he then played regular sets at, The Telegraph and Newcastle Arts Centre, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.

Andrew’s first record shop job at Our Price Records in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK was fortuitously located on the site of the old Club A’Gogo, an early ‘60s ‘Mod Mecca’ located within the Norths home of youth sub-culture - the Handyside Arcade. Soaking in the ghosts of this hallowed ground, his record store days and his exposure to album art inspired him to pursue a career in Graphic Design. It initially saw him relocate back to Middlesbrough, then continued with further study in London, he then relocated family to Sydney, Australia in 2004, throughout which, DJing work continued…
Holding residencies at The Duke of Clarence, Sydney; Never Mind The Weekend at The World Bar, Kings Cross; Viva La Vinyl at The Darlo Bar, Darlinghurst. He has played sets here in Australia at Deus Ex Machina in Camperdown, at Young Henrys Brewery (events), and at venues including, The Paddington Arts Centre, The Vic On The Park Hotel, Marrickville; The Henson Park Hotel, Marrickville and at The Kave Bar in Newport, to name but a few.
Passionately, a multi-genre DJ… and sharing the sounds of his diverse collection… now in Newcastle, Australia.
